Telenovela Watch - Favorites of 2012

This week's Telenovela Watch features my favorite telenovelas and performances to air in the US in 2012.  It’s hard to express why one likes a work of art, even harder to make clear why that personal relationship with a work of art should matter to others – I simply hope my arguments are cogent.  Whether one agrees or disagrees is immaterial so long as some critical examination of the works is spurred in the readers.

The compartmentalization of acting performances is not something I really like.  Ideally, my favorite performances list would be one long list of names – male, female, protagonist, antagonist, principal, supporting performances all mixed together, but I decided to surrender to practice made familiar by award shows.  The categories are also easier to read than one behemoth roll call.
